Norway sits on a goldmine of health data, locked in a complex web of numbers and maps

Nabolagshelse's platform turns raw geodata into actionable health intelligence, revolutionising how we understand and improve population health.

The Challenge

Politicians are required by law to maintain comprehensive health overviews of their municipalities. However, fragmented data sources, lack of detailed geographical insights, and inconsistent collection methods make this task nearly impossible.

Our research revealed that most municipalities struggle to gather and interpret the necessary information, hindering effective public health planning and intervention at the local level.

Contributing Factors

This is what we uncovered in research

Fragmented Data Sources

Health information was scattered across multiple platforms, making it difficult for municipalities to compile a comprehensive overview.

Lack of Granular Geo Data

Available data often lacked the granularity needed to identify and address local health inequalities within municipalities.

Inconsistent Methods

Municipalities varied widely in their approaches to gathering and analyzing health data, leading to inconsistencies and gaps in information.

Strategic Pivot

The client initially envisioned a B2C app for neighborhood health checks based on geo data. Recognizing the challenges startups face in B2C, particularly in user acquisition and marketing, I advised pivoting to a B2B model.
We refocused on developing a solution for municipalities, transforming the concept from a "nice-to-have" consumer product to an essential tool for public health management. This strategic shift not only improved market fit but also demonstrated such compelling value that municipalities were eager to adopt it pre-launch.

Branding Health and Community

We wanted the brand to reflect simplicity and nature in contrast to the complexity of the data the app would help visualise.

Concept and Logo

The Plant + House concept marries nature with community, symbolising holistic well-being. Our minimalist logo—a leaf within a house outline—distills complex health data into a simple, memorable icon of neighborhood vitality.

Color Palette

We chose earthy greens to evoke growth and harmony, complemented by a warm orange for energy. Black and white provide clarity, ensuring our message cuts through data complexity with visual simplicity.
